Less than 24 hours after defeating the Blue Devils, head coach Jeff Hafley has looked at tape, met with his team, and started his work for the upcoming matchup with the Bobcats.
Texas State may not be a team that instills a lot of fear, but Boston College needs to be prepared for this game. This is a team with a solid offense, that is averaging 36.7 points per game, and 277 yards through the air, albeit it against SMU and UTSA. They have a quarterback, Tyler Vitt who has already thrown for 600 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns in only two games. They can put up points fast as well, as they overcame a huge deficit late in the game against UTSA to force overtime in which they eventually lost.

Texas State vs Boston College Game In HD TV Preview
Texas State grabbed its first win of the season last week against Louisiana Monroe. The Bobcats had lost their first two games to SMU and UTSA. They bounced back with the 38-17 victory in what was a Sun Belt Conference opener. Quarterback Tyler Vitt threw two touchdowns and ran for another in the first half to get things started. Texas State led 31-14 at halftime and cruised in a low-scoring second half. Vitt completed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Haydel in the first quarter and threw him a 75-yard strike for a score at the end of the second quarter.
Vitt finished 14 of 21 through the air for 256 yards and the pair of touchdowns. He also rushed 82 yards on 11 carries and found the end zone once. Running back Calvin Hill added 14 attempts for 44 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Haydel was the team’s leading receiver with six catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Jah’Marae Sheread caught four passes for 44 yards. Junior cornerback Jarron Morris intercepted a pass and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown. It was his first interception of the season.

The offense struggled for the rest of the first half, taking a 7-6 lead into halftime.
